Water Weights Static Tensionmeters
Lifeboat Testing

Water Weights lifeboat proof load testing systems have been specifically designed to meet regulatory requirements for an evenly distributed load.

Water Weights lifeboat bags allow ease of handling and transportation compared to solid weights or traditional sandbags especially in totally enclosed lifeboats. Controlled loading, unloading, and minimal handling of the test load to achieve a wide variety of capacities results in minimum downtime for equipment under test.

A control manifold is used for filing the 825 lb lifeboat bags remotely so personnel don't have to be inside the craft under test. The bags are rated to +/- 1% of load when filled, which is well within the accuracy required by certifying authorities. Upon completion of the test, the load is removed by means of remotely operated pump and manifold system.

50 Kilogram Test Bags

Using a dual valve arrangement and suspension frame, an accurate weight to within +/-2% is achieved. This is well within the accuracy required by certifying authorities. A control manifold and suspension frame allows multiple bags to be filled simultaneously. Bags are available in CAA approved aluminum containers holding 50 bags each.

This type of bags are also used for accomodation ladder testing.

375 kg Bags

The system remotely removes test overload in instances where the winching system cannot recover the craft in its proof load condition. Water Weights 375 Kg lifeboat bags are filled on site. On completion of the test, the overload is removed by means of a remotely operated pump and manifold system.

Davit Testing

On instances where only the lifeboat davit requires load testing, specially designed bags are used for suspended loads on the davit hooks.

testing, specially designed bags are used for suspended Water Weights bags are Type Tested and certified with a physically proven factor of safety in excess of 6:1.

The load is always measured with a certified load cell allowing for an accuracy of +/- 1% of the load.
